Antoni Park Hamburg

Located between the Elbe and Reeperbahn.

Antoni Park - awesome view on the Port of Hamburg

Antoni ParkThe Antoni-Park (also called "Park Fiction" by the natives) provides, especially in spring and summer time, recreation on the one hand, and an awesome view on the Port of Hamburg on the other.

The park always offers some experiences - and if it's only the large ships going by tardily. The park is located near the Reeperbahn. It can be accessed from within walking distance from there. The view on the port of Hamburg is perhaps the most beautiful and unspoilt you can get. Especially in the warm season mainly young people romp around there until late at night to have a beer to drink, to play the guitar or to hold hands.

Otherwise the place is rarely crowded. But especially on weekend you can stumble upon crowds of young people enjoying themselves here just before making party on the Reeperbahn. Is there something special to marvel at and around the port of Hamburg (Cruise Days, the "Hafengeburtstag" or a naming ceremony) then the place is full of people, too - as mentioned already, the small Antoni Park (approx. 1,500 ) offers a really beautiful view on the harbor and Elbe!

A park on a roof

How many parks do you know that are built on top of a roof? The Antoni Park is such one. It is artificial and very small and therefore more a "Pärkchen" (as you would say in german - that means "very little park"). On green spaces under artificial palm trees you can make yourself super comfortable. The steel palm trees provide shade and there is no need to be scared of falling-down coconuts. And if you see a film crew there - don't wonder. The Antoni Park has been host for the production of lots of movies or music videos in the past.

Coffee and more

What about food and beverage there? This is granted through various cafes such the "Amphore" (left of the park if you look towards the Elbe in the St. Pauli Hafenstraße). The Amphore provides wonderful places to sit down for drinking or eating something - enjoying the view on the life of the aorta of Hamburg: The Elbe River. Next to the Amphore (right hand side) you find a restaurant - the "Schauermann".

And if you just want to grab a beer or need other little stuff, go to the little kiosk at the end of the street "Antonistraße". This street you probably walk alongside if you come from the Reeperbahn. The kiosk there is a superb adress for all of those who do not really want to sit down in a café. Grab a drink and settle on one of the meadows at Park Fiction! On the left hand side by the way - there was a famous club until 2016. The "Pudel". This club unfortunately was killed by fire. Hopefully it will reopen soon.

How to get there:

S1/S3 - get off station "Reeperbahn", exit: "Pepermölenbek". Follow the street Pepermölenbek til you see the "Lange Straße" to the left. Follow this street til you see a church on the right side. The park is on the opposite site of the church.
Other possibility: take the "S-Bahn" (S1 / S3) or the subway ("U-Bahn") to "Landungsbrücken" and then take the bus line 112 (direction "Neumühlen") and get off at station "Hafentreppe".

Car Parking:

At the fishmarket (reachable by foot in about 5 minutes)

Additional Informations:

The "Café Amphore" provides a good chance for parents to make their little children busy: You find a little spot (sandbox, green area) vis-à-vis of the coffee bar.
